WHY HEALTHCARE IS DIFFERENT

Requirements that go beyond uptime

Healthcare organizations face technology requirements that go well beyond keeping systems operational. Protecting patient information, managing access to sensitive systems, maintaining appropriate security controls and supporting HIPAA requirements all call for an IT partner who understands the responsibilities that come with the environment.

Patient information

Records and identifiers concentrated in systems that many people need to reach, quickly, during care.

Continuity of care

When a system is unavailable, the impact is felt in the clinic and the waiting room, not just in IT.

Access control

Who can see what, and the ability to show how that is managed.

HOW ATECH HELPS

What we do for healthcare organizations

Support HIPAA and regulatory requirements

Technology built and managed with those requirements in mind, supporting the compliance efforts your organization is already responsible for.

Protect patient data

Layered cybersecurity across the environment, aimed at reducing the risk to the information you hold.

Maintain reliable networks and cloud

Dependable network and cloud infrastructure, monitored around the clock so problems surface early.

Secure telehealth and remote access

Remote access and telehealth set up so people can work and consult securely from outside the practice.

BUSINESS ASSOCIATE AGREEMENTS

A BAA where required, as standard practice

When Atech provides IT services that involve access to protected health information (PHI), we establish a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) where required. A BAA formally addresses the responsibilities of the IT provider in handling protected health information, and is an important part of a properly structured healthcare IT relationship.

It is one of the ways we show that healthcare IT is not simply about fixing computers. It is about helping healthcare organizations manage technology, security, privacy and operational risk.

WHAT IT ADDS UP TO

What the practice gets

How we talk about HIPAA

Atech provides and manages technology that supports your HIPAA and regulatory compliance efforts. We do not certify, ensure or guarantee that an organization is HIPAA compliant — compliance rests with the covered entity and its own advisors. What we can do is build and maintain the technology underneath it with security and privacy considerations in mind, and enter into a BAA where required.
